The story of Max Aero began with its founder, Bharat Malkani, whose lifelong passion for aviation started from childhood. Growing up in Mumbai, watching aircraft arrive and depart from Juhu Airport sparked a dream—not just to fly aircraft, but to one day build and support them. That curiosity grew into a lifelong pursuit of aerospace engineering, military aviation, and technological innovation.
In 1991, Bharat Malkani attended his first air show in Dubai, an experience that sparked a lifelong vision. Inspired by the possibilities within aviation, he envisioned building a company dedicated to the modification and maintenance of both civil and military aircraft. It was the moment he began turning a lifelong dream into a reality.
In 1994, that vision became reality with the establishment of Max AeroSpace. Built on a foundation of engineering excellence, technical expertise, and a passion for aviation, the company set out to deliver advanced aerospace solutions while contributing to India's growing aviation and defence ecosystem.
In 2008, Max MRO Services was established with a dedicated focus on the civil aviation sector. The company was formed to build specialised capabilities in aircraft component maintenance and repair, strengthening the Group’s presence in the growing civil aviation market.
A joint venture with Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) expanded technical capabilities, strengthened global standards, and connected Max MRO to a world-class maintenance network.
A joint venture with Safran strengthened Max Aero’s capabilities in supporting the Mirage M53 engine, expanding its expertise in military aviation. Joint Venture with Safran to focus on Mirage M53 Engine
